Asturias, Spain’s best-kept secret and home to Hotel Fuentes de Lucía, your perfect mountain retreat. Our dynamic retreats, which combine yoga and hiking, will include twice-daily yoga classes with certified instructors from around the globe and local hiking guides who all share their passion with us here in our oasis of serenity and calm. Surrounded by dramatic peaks, deep gorges, and crystal clear rivers, there is nowhere better to breathe in the pure mountain air and stretch your limbs than at our restored farmhouse and yoga studio.
Begin the day with an early morning yoga practice followed by a hearty breakfast in the main dining room, formerly a mill, before the day’s hiking adventure unfolds. We walk beautiful mountain trails, averaging approximately 15 kilometers per day, accompanied by friendly and knowledgeable guides who will fill our days with a soulful blend of scenic hiking, historical insights, traditional experiences, and wonderful food. Savor local Asturian cuisine, sample aromatic cheeses and sip the traditional beverage, Sidra Asturianu, a cider made from locally grown apples. Trek through scenic gorges and alongside babbling brooks; dine in local taverns; explore 10th-century churches and relax under Spain’s oldest yew tree, El Tiexo, planted more than 1000 years ago in a sacred meadow.
In the late afternoon, we journey deep into yoga’s restorative practice to rejuvenate our trekking legs before enjoying lovely home-cooked dinners prepared by the owners of Fuentes de Lucia Hotel. No matter what your level of fitness and yoga experience you are welcome on this active holiday.

In 2020, limitations due to COVID travel restrictions she began studying with Life Force Academy (LFA) Guru Jai Dev Singh, Nevada City, California. This journey of the spirit with Jai Dev taught her the intricate advanced techniques of Kundalini Yoga, a Royal Yoga from the Sikh Traditions of India. Practicing with Jai Dev at MENLA Retreat (the Dali Lama’s outreach in the USA) for several immersions was expansive. April sought answers to why this ROYAL Yoga had such remarkable, practical, and powerful transformative energy, embarking on a journey to become a Kundalini Yoga instructor. She has had the honor of studying with 2 internationally renowned Gurus, Jai Dev Singh and Krishna Kaur. This transformational journey has expanded her intuition, spiritual strength, and artistic presence. It raised the creative energy, sometimes referred to as Kundalini, and fuels her purpose in life.
April Ann will be joining us at Fuentes de Lucia in Asturias on June 15-22, 2025.

Lori Gholson
Lori Gholson – Blending movement and stillness for well-being has intrigued Lori Gholson, RYT since her first exposure to yoga in 1977. She came to see the benefit of yoga in all aspects of life – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Recognizing this power of practice was pivotal in her life and led to an in-depth study of yoga and eventually to teaching. Lori approaches her teaching with heartfelt dedication – combining compassion and levity with fine-tuned instruction that taps into her thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Encouraging each student to seek and celebrate their inner richness, Lori sees each yoga asana (pose) as a gift – given to help refine our skills of observation, reflection, and action. She studies regularly with Senior Iyengar Teacher, Patricia Walden.
Lori’s classes explore a wide variety of asanas, including standing poses, twists, backbends, forward bends, inversions, and restorative poses. Each asana has a definite form. Instruction includes the use of yoga props, such as blankets, straps, blocks, and chairs. These props offer support and enable each student to work with refining the asana. Yoga is a non-competitive endeavor. Lori invites every practitioner to respect their own level of strength and flexibility each time they come to the mat.
Marrana Davis
Marrana Davis knew that she wanted to BE a teacher after her first yoga class in 1995. She moved to Colorado in 1998 and in 2000 Marrana began her journey of becoming a teacher. She is a Certified All Levels Integrative Hatha Yoga teacher, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, and has received certification through Green Mountain RYS 230-hr and assisted in teacher training. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, an esthetician since 2006, and a budding herbal enthusiast!! Over the last 20+ years, she has shared her love of yoga, health, and wellness with her community.
She has a calming presence and restorative, therapeutic energy that allows her students to find balance in their bodies, minds, and hearts… it dances beautifully with her belief that movement is life and a little humor goes a long way.
Her classes invite each participant to set an intention for their practice and their life: with mindful breathing, moving the body through flowing postures, various meditations, closing with a smile, and an invitation to take their intentions off the mat & into the world (and quite possibly a hug). She asks that you be open to and embrace what class brings up for you.
She LOVES living in Colorado and being outdoors!! Travel is one of Marana’s greatest passions…near and far, always ready to pack up and go on an adventure… Please join her in Spain for a beautiful experience in the magical Asturias mountains with fabulous people, mindful yoga, delicious food, and hiking with the best guides in a land where the history & scenery is awe-inspiring.
