The Catalan Coastal Trek – Mar Mediterráneo

You’ve followed us all over western Spain for the past 25 years, now follow us over to the eastern part of the Iberian Peninsula as we introduce you to the wild landscape of Costa Brava and 85 kilometers of blissful hiking trails along the Mediterranean coast with the added bonus of the first stage of the Camino Catalan, a 1200-kilometer Camino de Santiago trek. Breathe in the dreamy vistas of the rugged Catalan coastline and wander across perfect sandy coves for an invigorating dip in the sea.

Become acquainted with Salvador Dalí, one of the most versatile and prolific artists of the 20th century and the most famous Surrealist, who was born here. Visit his home, hang out in his favorite cafés, and picture yourself in his paintings as we trek the coastline of Catalonia.

Your international point of arrival will be Barcelona. Drink in the sights of Antoni Gaudí and his famous modernist buildings, wander the narrow streets of Bario Gotico, stroll down Las Ramblas for a taste of the true Catalan flavor. The meeting point of this trip is just 60-miles north of Barcelona in Girona, a fascinating city once ruled by the Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors and finally, Charlemagne; creating a fabric of diversity in what is one of Catalonia’s most beautiful cities. Not to be missed is the Museum of Jewish History in Girona, which sums up the important contribution of culture and the sciences in medieval Spain.
